TRADE STATISTICS EU apparel import concludes 2017 on a positive note January to December 2017 The year 2017 was no less than a shaky one for the European Union. All through the year, the clothing sector of the Union trembled badly because of the impact of global economic challenges, BREXIT (which will take place on 29th March 2019), unstable currency and closure of clothing retail stores. However, despite these challenges, apparel imports by the European Union remained in positive territory volume-wise at the end of 2017 with decreasing UVR by (-) 0.86% which is a good sign for the Union.
