AIMS TO HAVE STRONGHOLD WITH ‘TECHNOLOGY’ AND
‘SUSTAINABILITY’ MIX

ver the years, cutting rooms
have been synonymous with
wastage of fabrics, backlogs,
manpower requirement and
high-power consumption, that not
only affect productivity but also
increase cost. Until the advent of
automatic cutting solutions, these
problems persisted. Flavio Cattini
started FKgroup in 1961, the Italian
pioneer in cutting technology,
which is transforming the cutting
rooms into a highly competitive and
automated division, leaving behind
footprints for others to follow.
With over 55 years of existence in
global textile industry as a
cutting solutions provider, thanks
to Wintex Resources Ltd., FKgroup
has earned a great reputation
in the growing Bangladesh RMG
sector. “In fact we are seeing no
decline in demands,” said Sergio
Gori, CEO, FKgroup, confidently.
With increased focus on quality,
Bangladesh exporters have been
emphasising on the same through
technology, thereby, investing
heavily in automation of late.
“It delights us to see that with
the help of FK cutting solutions,
manufacturers are reaching the
productivity of 1,000 pieces per
hour in denim,” added Sergio.
‘Super Jeans’ and ‘Universal’
cutters are two of the popular
models adopted by Bangladesh
market. Launched almost two
years ago, the line of cutting room
solutions for denim, ‘Super Jeans’
has made its existence in the
cutting rooms of many top jeans
manufacturing companies in
Bangladesh.
This year, the company has
launched the latest model of
‘Super Jeans’ cutter which is more
productive than the previous model.
“With improved software and
technologies, it is made possible,”

averred Sergio stating that R&D
is another vital factor helping to
propagate the excellence of FK
cutting machines in Bangladesh.
He added,“Our R&D team visits
factories here, stays for two weeks
and resolves customer problems
and then does the required
improvements in machines.”
Also, equal success has been
achieved in knit industries with
another model, ‘Universal Cutter
9 cm’ which is touching heights in
Furthermore, the company lays
emphasis on sustainability with
eco-power technology which
ensures less power usage. Its
cutters consume just 5.9 KW of
electricity using eco-power
technology, which is almost five
to eight times less than what
is consumed by other cutters
available in the market. With a
cutting speed of 110 metres per
minute, made possible through
a blade vibration of 6,000 RPM,
the cutter can be maintained via
remote assistance and has been
approved by WHO as medically safe
for operators due to its medicated
healthcare filter.
To promote environmental
values, FK Group has also
collaborated with TUV energy
certifications. Furthermore, the
cutters enable reduction of 50% of
CO2 emission in one year to keep
the environment safe from negative
impacts. “We applied the same
rules as in the automotive industry.
It works on the same colour scale
that depicts the energy score. This
has become possible because of
Siemens’ components and we have
patented this system,” explained
Sergio.
FKgroup believes that selling
machine is not the only criteria
for success as customer delight
is equally important, which
comes from strong after-sales
service. Wintex Resources, being
the sole agent of Bangladesh, is
responsible for handling after-
sales support for FK customers.
“Approximately 55% of our sales
comes from existing customers
which is the testimonial of our
products, performance and after-
sales service. We have got repeat
orders from Esquire knits, Remi
Holdings/ Tarasima Apparels,
Purbani Group and so on…,”
informed Faruk Hossen Sarker,
FK Area Director and CEO,
Wintex Resources Ltd. More
than 100 machines of the group
have been installed in Bangladesh
factories in three years.
