JACK
MULLS WAYS TO TAP GROWTH IN BANGLADESH’ EXPORT
MARKET
I
nnovations, performance, quality,
acquisitions and strong-sales
support are synonymous to the
leading Chinese sewing machines
provider Jack. The company has
been aggressively touching heights
over the past few years and its
unbeatable technology is one of the
major contributors to its success in
the global sewn industry. However,
when it comes to Bangladesh
apparel market, Jack holds a
stronger position in domestic
than in export garments’ sector.
However recently it has achieved
a very good position in both
domestic and export market
seeing its sales record of last
couple of years. Citing the same,
A. Muntaqim, Managing Director,
Jack Bangladesh Ltd., commented
that Jack sold out machines worth
US $ 18 million in 2017, which
came from both export garments’
sector and domestic market sector.
Especially in domestic market, Jack
has around 90% market share. “We
think Garmentech is a good start in
the New Year 2018 to step forward
as we are on our way to close deals
with big-level exporters,” asserted
Muntaqim.
The technology, appreciated by the
world, was a key highlight of Jack
in the exhibition as the sewing
giant commercially launched A5
SNLS machine in Bangladesh for
the first time after its debut in the
Jack’s overseas conference held
last year in China.
The ‘First Thread Cleanness’
computerised machine in the
world, A5 has patented features
such as digital alert system for
oil leakage, bird nest prevention
system, auto thread trimming and
coaxial driving unit. The machine
is also a conglomerate of auto
bobbin winder, multi presser foot,
suction device and electronic
thread tension release system. A5

Muntaqim (L), Managing Director, Jack Bangladesh Ltd. with Betty, who earlier handled Jack’s Bangladesh
market for 8 years
has working space of 300 mm which
makes the operation easier for the
operator.
“Because of Accord and
Alliance, Bangladesh garment
manufacturers are improving their
factories’ situation and investing
in automation. This is helping us
grow a lot and I am sure A5 will
be embraced by the Bangladesh’
market,” shared Betty, the earlier
Regional Director (Bangladesh),
Jack Sewing Machine Co. Ltd.,
who handled Jack’s Bangladesh
market for more than 8 years
and has recently been given the
responsibility of the Turkey market
by the company’s top management.
“In Betty’s tenure, Jack has seen
great shift from low and mid-level
customers to mid and high-level
customers in Bangladesh and I am
sure we will keep this momentum
going even in 2018 and in coming
years with dedicated efforts
towards achieving more share
in the country’s apparel export
sector,” said Cathy, Director of
Business, Jack who is also the
new director for the Bangladesh
market.
Every month, the technical teams of

Jack organize trainings to educate
garments factory people and agents
to let them understand the basic
technicalities of its machines as
well as to guide them how to do
preventive maintenance in case of
any sort of errors in the machines.
The training is provided at Jack
Bangladesh Liaison Office which
is located at Syed Grand Centre,
Uttara in Dhaka where Jack’s team,
apart from educating these people,
also makes them understand the
significance and value addition of
Jack sewing machine.
“We have a strong team of more
than 30 technicians including two
Chinese engineers in Bangladesh.
And I believe we are stronger than
Juki as far as after-sales service
is concerned. Depending upon
the traffic situations, we send our
technical persons in a maximum
of 12 hours if we get any service
requirements from any of our
clients. This is the reason we have
a trust factor among our end users,
and with the grace of this trust, our
sales is increasing day by day in
Bangladesh,” concluded Muntaqim.
