RESOURCE CENTRE PFAFF 3589 machine was recently launched in the Bangladesh’s market their requirements, we supply them machines. This is our main strategy.” The strenuous effort of Duerkopp Adler to capture these customers is impressive seeing the recent innovation in fabric which has been happening on a grand level over the years. The same can be stamped by stating a fact that suits were once being completely made from woven fabric, but nowadays suits are also being manufactured using stretchable fabric. According to Hasan, Duerkopp Adler and DAD are ready for this change. “Specially, when customers go for opting any patch pocket setter from other brands, they face problem as these other brands fall short of development in kinematics and feeding of the materials but our customers know how serious efforts we put in our R&D division to gain these developments in our machines,” boasted Hasan.  Giving attention to Bangladesh’s readiness towards more automation, the company recently launched PFAFF 3589 machine (a programmable automatic pocket setter with two heads) in the market. The application of the machine includes automatic creasing and attaching of pockets in jeans, workwear and sportswear. The machine is said to run on 4,000 SPM and produce high output, FA C T S H E E T Part of the future growth that the company expects’ is also by launching Industry 4.0 solutions such as its new QONDAC Networks technology, enabling disruptive new business models and new remote service concepts. However, despite Bangladesh’s acceptance towards automation, it can be seen that the Chinese players in sewing industry are ample in number and many of which, with the help of counterfeiting, are able to reduce cost of their machines. However, these Chinese brands are not able to provide the level of quality which the German juggernaut is known for in the world. Further, to tackle this counterfeiting, Duerkopp Adler has recently sewn a deal with the Chinese bigwig ShangGong Group. “Since Chinese players are everywhere with cheaper prices, our answer to the industry is ShangGong Group,” asserted Bernd Bräuer. Bernd further added that Bangladesh will remain a dominant force in years to come. “I feel Bangladesh is not all about prices, it looks for services too… We are strong enough in services and this is why we have increased our sales and service force here in the country recently. Our customers are ready to pay for better services which they cannot expect from the small Chinese brands,” commented Bernd. Furthermore, the success of Duerkopp Adler in Bangladesh can also be attributed to the strong knowledge of metallurgy of its R&D team which is considered to be a very critical concept in mechanical industry. “To produce any casting on heat treatment, one should know metallurgy well. You can’t make it like other Chinese machines providers who just follow cutting, tapping and holing processes on CNC machines and claim their machines are ready. Some portion of the machine manufacturing will still need human hands that too very carefully. So, we take some time to produce the machines and this is why our machines are known worldwide on quality front,” claimed Hasan confidently while explaining the technical aspects during machine manufacturing.  Duerkopp Adler has grown consistently in the past few years at a rate of 20 per cent on a year-on- year basis and intends to continue the growth story with the same vigour. Part of the future growth that the company expects, is also by launching Industry 4.0 solutions such as its new QONDAC Networks technology, enabling disruptive new business models and new remote service concepts. www.apparelresources.com | JUNE 2018 | Apparel Online Bangladesh 33
