AI capacity planning software
L
inear Squared, a Sri Lankan company offering Machine Learning and Advanced
Data Analytics solutions, has launched a fully automated planning platform for the
apparel industry. The company claims the solution, Capacity Squared, to be the world’s
first AI-driven production planning software.
With the new intelligent solution, apparel planners need to add order details into
the system and the AI-powered solution will automatically calculate the efficiency
estimates per line and will generate optimal sewing schedule.
T
ukatech Inc., a leading US-
based fashion technology
solution provider, has been
certified with A+ rating in TÜV
SÜD Italia Machine Energy
Protocol MEP for TUKAcut.
The automatic cutting machine
features clean air filtration and
lowest energy consumption. Built
with Italian expertise, TUKAcut can
be used to cut fabrics for lingerie
and denim. Its advantages include
50-70 per cent low energy and
running cost.
Capacity Squared offers unparalleled production schedules with an allocation
efficiency of 99.5 per cent and also reduces the hours of planning task to under
5 minutes. The use of the technology will further enhance the plant capacity by
20 per cent, thus making room for more orders.
< < Softwear Automation, Li & Fung team up
to digitalise apparel manufacturing
Equipped with Tukatech’s software
and other mechanical and
electrical specifications, TUKAcut
is a result of the partnership with
Italian cutting system manufacturer
F.K. Group.
“The partnership with F.K. Group
allows Tukatech to offer garment
manufacturers reliable fabric
cutting machines at competitive
prices. Similar to engineering
companies like AMG partnering
with Daimler-Benz to offer an
amazingly high-performance
vehicle to drivers who appreciate
the engineering, we offer just the
same with our partnership with
F.K. Group,” said Ram Sareen,
Founder, Tukatech.
L
i & Fung Ltd. has joined forces with Softwear Automation, a US-based robotic
sewing company. The collaboration will allow Li & Fung’s global supplier network
and Softwear’s autonomous sewing worklines to digitalise the supply chain. The
initial focus will be on the manufacturers of T-shirts, and will then be on tapping other
product categories.
The solution will not only enable manufacturers to better productivity and efficiency
but also to create new, higher-value employment opportunities such as engineers and
technicians.
Under the collaboration, Softwear will provide all the technology needed to meet the
‘speed-to-market’ demand and made-to-measure manufacturing solutions; while Li
& Fung will team up with a few apparel manufacturers to create the first fully-digital
apparel supply chain, scale up the level of technology incorporation and create
customised solutions for its supplier network across the world.
