The garment manufacturers have been investing in advanced machinery in order to achieve higher productivity, thus catering to the never-ending demands of the buyers and retailers. FKgroup, based out of Italy, in association with Wintex Resources Ltd., is providing a plethora of solutions in Bangladesh successfully over the years. In an interactive discussion with Faruk Hossen Sarker, CEO, Wintex Resources Ltd. and Sergio Gori, CEO, FKgroup, Team Apparel Online unveiled some of their key strategies to thrive in the Bangladesh market. FKgroup, a pioneer in CAD/CAM solutions, exhibited its highly acclaimed cutting room solution for denim, the model ‘Super Jeans’, which made its mark in various Faruk Hossen Sarker, CEO, Wintex Resources Ltd. FKgroup has been acknowledged by TUV Germany, a leading technical service corporation, catering to the Industry, Mobility and Certification segments, for its true eco- power certificate in CAD/CAM solutions. manufacturing companies in Bangladesh. “We have installed over 100 machines in Bangladesh and 10,000 across the world,” shared Faruk. Wintex has a team with 20 years of experience in cutting room automation and is prospering in the denim sector despite heavy competition from Chinese counterparts. Also equal success has been achieved in the knit segment with another unique model ‘Universal Cutter’. Especially knit is very easy to cut compared to denim/woven. Both the models of FK Cutter consume approximately 5.9 kW of electricity using eco-power technology that guarantees considerable power saving, almost five to eight times less than what is consumed by other cutters. Furthermore, the cutting speed is 110 metres per minute which is made possible through a blade vibration of 6,000 RPM. The cutter can be maintained via remote assistance and has also been approved by WHO as medically safe for operators mainly due to its medicated healthcare filter. “Bangladesh usually does quantities in bulk and Super Jeans can easily cut 1,000 pieces denim/hour and so it has been the most prefered denim machine here,” said Faruk. Moreover, the cutter is compatible with other types of fabrics such as cotton and lycra. Both the cutters are recommended for companies receiving repeat orders. Apart from cutting solutions, FKgroup is also a provider of diverse variety of solutions starting from CAD software to plotters. Its FKAD software is developed on three different levels so as to meet the needs of all the sectors. From simple editing to complex model creation for Haute Couture, everything is possible on FKAD Model. In addition to this, the company is also offering tools such as FKAD Fitting that is the best solution for made-to-measure clothing production and FKAD 3D, a 3D CAD software that is easy to use and allows the users to view 3D samples in real time and enables easy communication with the partners. Another cutting edge solution, FKAD Design, is a revolutionary solution for designers which allows maximum freedom through which they can express their creativity. The software inculcates specific modules that help create presentations and collect samples of fabrics, 2D elements, personalised draft collage and enable mapping of 3D photos. “In Bangladesh, not many factories are investing in FKAD 3D for now and it is being mainly used by people who have their own fashion studios; thus very few set-ups of this kind can be seen in Bangladesh. We hope that in future, there will be some growth in this segment,” explained Sergio. Markedly, FKgroup has a designated R&D team in Bangladesh that studies and analyses the needs of the customers. “The team personally interacts with the customers and understands their needs. On the basis of their needs, the team starts with the R&D of projects,” said Sergio. It is worth noting that the company has been acknowledged by TUV Germany, a leading technical service corporation, catering to the Industry, Mobility and Certification segments, for its true eco-power certificate in CAD/CAM solutions. www.apparelresources.com | APRIL 2019 | Apparel Online Bangladesh 33
