THE ATELIER
The latest addition to LFW was The Atelier,
for creative designers to exhibit their
collections. The show began with Manish
Arora who created had eight models posing
in his iconic exaggerated garments under
the theme ‘We are Family.’ With psychedelic
lights, colours and
d music it was an e experience
to remember.
The Anand Kabra show was devoted to the
crafts of Hyderabad, which Anand showcased
with great care and attention.
The Reebok Zig Kinetic shoes launch with
the Chola label was an equally high-energy
event with dancers, live music and wildly
creative clothes by Chola. They were a perfect
match for the new foot wear line. The Kaveri
label which is devoted to linen unveiled, ‘I
listen to Colour’ a line of creations with a
marked African appeal and Mohammed
Mazhar stayed true to his whites with touches
of black for his ‘Jeeansaaz’ (saddler) collection
that featured motifs of saddles, horse shoes
and stirrups. Jade the formal wear brand
created magic with ‘A Summer Sonnet’ for
the very colourful and elegant line, while a trio
of designers Mrunalini Rao, Pooja Shroff and
Sunaina Khera created fashion that was ideal
for destination weddings.

Crochet’, paid homage to crocheting and

added it to beautiful feminine creations in

a collection called ‘A Summer Poem.’ Eka
by Rina Singh in collaboration with the
TSCO Government of Telangana designed
creations from the lovely blend of fabrics
of the state and called the collection ‘Jo
the Rebellious One.’ The final show by Ritu
Kumar with Lenzing Ecovero fibres was a
brilliant collection called ‘Nature’s Origami,’
showcasing a riot of colours, prints and
styles was aimed at the contemporary
woman.
