CIRCULARS & REPRESENTATIONS
The Association sent a Request to the Ministry of Textiles Govt of India on 10th January 2020 for
Uniform GST Slab in the Textiles and Apparel Industry .The Association also sent a Recommendation
to Shri Ravi Capoor, IAS, Secretary (Textiles) Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India on 10th January 2020
requesting that the entire Apparel Sector be brought under the 5% Slab or at the very least, increase
the cut off price point from R1000=00 to R2500=00 to give a huge relief to the Consumers.
The Association has once again made a Representation to Shri Ravi Capoor, IAS, Secretary (Textile)
Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, New Delhi on 7th February 2020 requesting the Ministry of textiles to
support in pushing our case to remove Garments from the ambit of the Legal Metrology and Packaged
Commodity Acts.
The Association was requested by the Ministry of Textiles, to arrange a Meeting of Top Apparel
Brands with Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Smt Smriti Irani on 10th February 2020 at Udyog Bhavan, New
Delhi to discuss Apparel Industry related matters. A total of ___ Brand owners attended the Meeting.
Mr Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor of the Association also attended the said Meeting on behalf of the
Association.
The Association also made a Sector Specific Suggestions / Recommendations to the Economic
Advisor, Ministry of Commerce & Industry vide Letter dated 21st February 2020 for Textile and Apparel
Sector for inclusion in the New Industrial Policy.

ITPO , under the aegis of Deptt of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry
is organising 1st Great India Shopping Festival in Ahmedabad, Gujarat from 31st
to 10th February 2020 and that the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises
is participating in the said Festival and will be providing 9 SQM Stall to Individual
MSE’s Free of Cost under the Procurement and Marketing Support ( Revised )
Scheme on Payment of Refundable Security Deposit of Rs.10000/- Circular issued
by the Office of Development Commissioner(MSME) giving Fact Sheet, Terms &
Conditions for Participating through MSME also enclosed therewith.
Cir No F-9 / 21 / 20 by e-mail to all Members in Mumbai & Western Region
informing them that Apparel Export promotion Council ( AEPC) in Association with
WGSN, UK is organising a Seminar on Fashion Forecast- Spring/Summer 2021 &
Autumn / Winter 2021-2022 and seasons beyond on Friday, 14th February 2020 at
Wallchand Hirachand Hall, IMC, Mumbai and also sent them a detailed Circular for
their Information and also to attend the Seminar , if they so desire.
Cir No G-2 /22 /20 sent by e-mail to all Members in Mumbai & Western Region
informing them that the Association is Organising a Work Shop on 7th Feb 2020 at
Dadar on the “ New GST Returns” with effect from April 2020.
