This year, in fact, the kids’ wear segment performed extremely well as it saw a spate of bookings beyond expectations. THE B2B CONNECTION Participants have acknowledged that the NGFs have helped them to diversify their distribution base, learn about newer trends, have a better product mix, and ensure that they have stylised and better designs, all of which help significantly in increasing domestic business. To drive its fashion and clothing category, Udaan, India’s pioneering B2B portal, which spans a multitude of categories, was the title sponsor of the fair this year. Organised by CMAI, NGFs are the biggest of their kind held in the country in terms of footfalls, number of stalls, as well as the amount of orders placed. In what was a splendid coming-together of two unignorable forces of the industry, Udaan had tied up with 45 of its premium brands, having streamed videos of their latest catalogues, portfolios, and experiences, which were displayed in grand fashion at the fair—on 13 LED screens across six halls. The 1,200-square-feet Udaan zone right outside the registration point, along with 12 information desks, meant interaction with a minimum of 25,000 visitors over four days. In fact, more than 200 Udaan representatives, part of Udaan’s strong on-ground team that comprises 3,000 members, interacted with thousands of visitors to ensure consistent touch. THE 1,200-SQUARE-FEET UDAAN ZONE RIGHT OUTSIDE THE REGISTRATION POINT, ALONG WITH 12 INFORMATION DESKS, MEANT INTERACTION WITH A MINIMUM OF 25,000 PEOPLE OVER FOUR DAYS. The 69th NGF boasted more than 1,000 stalls and a visitor turnover of 42,000, which not only provided participating brands with immense visibility but also earned Udaan solid credibility.
