Canterbury Park
One of the few family-friendly horse racing tracks in the country. Every Thursday during the racing season is Buck Night. Sundays are family day.
Minnesota Renaissance Festival
Beginning in August, see the past come alive. Kid and family-friendly activities.
Waterparks
Soak City Waterpark is included with your admission to Valleyfair. SandVenture Aquatic Park has a unique, chlorinated pool that offers a sand beach leading out to a sand-bottom.
Huber Park Performance & Event Series
Located along the Minnesota River in historic Downtown, it has free, family-friendly events during the summer.
Scott County Fair
Dubbed the“ 5 Best Days of Summer”, the fair features live acts, farm animals, carnival rides and traditional fair food.
The Great Midwest Rib Fest
This free outdoor, family-friendly event at Mystic Lake Casino showcases the nation’ s top rib cookers.
Rock and Rockets
Come to Mystic Lake Casino during the 4th of July and enjoy a free, all-ages event which includes live music, food trucks, and a musically-choreographed fireworks show.
Shockwaves Water Ski Events
Beginning late June and running most Thursday evenings throughout the summer, see a fun, free water ski show put on by the Shakopee – Prior Lake Water Ski Association( Shockwaves).
Wacipi Pow Wow
The Wacipi celebration of life, in August, is a social celebration of dancing, singing and visiting. Visitors are welcome.
Embrace our History
Step back in time and experience history first-hand at The Landing: Minnesota River Heritage Park. Nestled along the banks of the Minnesota River, this 88-acre livinghistory park explores the charms and challenges of life in the Lower Minnesota River Valley from the 1840s to the 1890s. Visit the fur trader’ s cabin and learn how beaver pelts were transformed into gold. Discover a pioneer-era farmstead and see if you have what it takes to carve a new life for yourself on the frontier. Stroll the streets of Eagle Creek- a recreated turn-of-the-19thcentury river town- and learn about the daily life of its residents. Tour highlighted historical buildings, watch as costumed interpreters bring the past alive during living history events or try your hand at historic crafts.
