Department Recognition
Traffic Enforcement Officer Darrell Gordon , a member of the DWI Unit , was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving ( MADD ) based upon the number of impaired drivers that he arrested in 2020 . Officer Gordon also assists the department training officers in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and is certified as an Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement Officer .
The Arlington Tactical Intelligence Unit received the Partner of the Year Award from Tarrant County Crime Stoppers based upon coordinating citizen tips .
Traffic Officer Cody Adams received the Extra Mile Servant Leader of the Year Award given by the Arlington Alliance 4 Youth . This was due to his involvement and commitment with the department ’ s Coach 5-0 student athlete mentoring program .
Arlington Detective Casey Brashear is assigned to an FBI Task Force and received the 2020 United States Attorney ’ s Award of Excellence for his contributions with the Joint Terrorism Task Force on a local case that had a terrorism nexus .
