The department passed a remote assessment in December 2020 from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies to maintain our TRI-ARC – Communications , Training Center and Law Enforcement .
� Women ’ s Day magazine recognized the department ’ s Santa Cops program , highlighting a heartfelt story featuring six-year old Elliott Wyche who donated his toys to benefit Arlington children in need of Christmas presents .
The department created a joint program with the FBI , Fort Worth Police , Grand Prairie Police , Mansfield Police , Arlington ISD , Grand Prairie ISD and Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County called , “ Fake Threat , Real Regret .” The program is designed to deter students from posting fake threats on social media . A video was produced to educate parents and teens on the consequences of engaging in this type of dangerous behavior .
