The North Police District, in
addition to providing law enforcement
services to residents and businesses,
includes the Entertainment District
and Downtown Arlington within its
geographic boundaries.
In 2019, crime drivers included
aggravated assaults, vehicle thefts,
and robberies. The district will
continue focusing resources and
efforts to reverse violent crime trends.
The district also experienced an
overall reduction in property crimes
related to burglary of vehicles, motor
vehicle thefts and robberies. The
district added a second officer to the
City Center Unit in 2019 to assist with
patrolling the downtown Arlington
area including city facilities.

During the National Night
Out celebration, the North District
increased the number of parties and
neighborhood participation. Officers
regularly meet with residents and
host community functions to increase
public education and partner with the
community.
When a criminal offense occurs
that is related to a non-violent crime,
typically these types of cases are
assigned to detectives who work in the
North District. Geographic detectives
issued 569 warrants and were assigned
6,209 criminal cases over the past
year. Investigators ended the year with
a 28% clearance rate and restoring
justice to victims.
