JULY OCTOBER The department’s Honor Guard and Motors Unit led the largest parade in the State of Texas on July 4, 2019. The crowds love to see Arlington’s Finest leading the way for this summer event. National Night Out is an opportunity for neighbors to get outside and renew their crime prevention efforts while meeting officers and city officials. This year was no different with thousands of residents joining forces to take a bite out of crime. AUGUST Back to school events lined the city as officers worked with local charities and generous donors to ensure students had the supplies needed for the upcoming school year. SEPTEMBER The East Patrol District assisted with a clean-up day in the Phillips Park neighborhood through a block party. Code Enforcement, Public Library, and Republic Services were present to lend a helping hand. NOVEMBER Six Flags Over Texas made a donation to Santa Cops as they geared up for the holiday season to reach as many families as possible. DECEMBER Patrol officers, traffic officers, and SWAT made it possible to brighten Elliott’s journey, who had several medical hurdles to endure, by coming out to pick up donated toys from him.
