In 2016, 40 new police officers began training at the Police Academy.
The Training Center reported 60,565
hours of instruction to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement through 449 courses that were offered to officers and staff.
The Fugitive Unit cleared 662 arrest warrants for felony
offenders who were wanted on serious crimes.
The department’ s Facebook account
grew by more than
47 percent and Twitter followers
increased by 84 percent.
The Narcotics Unit actively conducted 404 investigations, executed 24 search warrants, which resulted in the seizure of $ 47,530
dollars of illegal assets and 5 vehicles from the sale of drugs.
The Crime Prevention Unit graduated 138 residents
from the Citizens Police Academy, ACAPP, and Hispanic Citizens Police Academy.
Over 36,000 resource hours were returned to our department through our citizen volunteer program.
