À Maurice, nous vivons vice-versa: c’ est l’ état austral, tandis qu’ ailleurs l’ ambiance est hivernale. Les médias du « nord » parlent de froid et de verglas, tandis que notre vocabulaire est fait d’ alizés et d’ appels de la mer. Cette météo à l’ envers n’ est pas qu’ un détail climatique: elle nous rappelle que le monde n’ obéit pas à un seul calendrier, ni à une seule manière de sentir le temps.
When seasons reverse: shifting the focus • In Mauritius, the seasons run in reverse: we bask in the summer sun while winter grips the rest of the world. The media in the“ North” talk about snow, cold, and ice, while our language is filled with trade winds and the call of the sea. This upsidedown weather is more than a climatic curiosity— it reminds us that the world doesn’ t follow a single calendar or share a single way of feeling the seasons.
