Religious and Artistic Connections

The power of nature is seen throughout the Romantic period. As seen in painting 2, the artistic use of nature was used to enhace the glory and beauty of God. Art during the Romantic period also showcased the destructive power of nature and how no humane is immune from it, This idea, (painting 1) was another way Romanticism countered the scientific reasoning of the Enlightenment.
