“Break-In Riders”
Polito Ulloa and Jango Salgado
On July 11, 12 and 13 the 1st. Break-In; Rein
and Training Clinic took place in Lincoln, in the
Province of Buenos Aires under the denomination
of “Break-In Riders” and conducted by expert
tamer Carlos “Polito” Ulloa and by the multiple
world Rein champion, American Jango Salgado.
The clinic is organized by Bien Montados and
sponsored by the AAP; the AACCP and the
National Ministrty of Agro-Industry.
“Masters among Masters”
In order to hold this clinic, organizers came up
with the idea of joining two key pieces (“Polito”
Ulloa and Jango Salgado), and invite them to be
a part of something unique in the world, with the
aim of putting into practice all that which all those
devoted life and soul to horses yearn for. Both
“masters” had the huge satisfaction and generosity
of transmitting all their experiences; their learning;
their experimenting; their achievements in years
spent at corrals; exercising tracks; schooling
arenas; studying every gesture and getting to
know the horses’ thoughts as no one else might.
We wish to highlight Polito’s ability not only to
display his skills, but also of incorporating new
concepts regarding other break-in systems and
put them into practice.
The following are different opinions by tamers and
participants at the course who said:

that we may continue to learn. Many of us started
with farm break-in, and started going towards more
rational systems, mostly driven by Polito Ulloa, and
the results he obtained. It was very useful as far as
learning; maturing and opening our minds”.
Gabriel Ponsone: “We are all on the same track,
but watching Jango and Polito, you see that they
are in to every detail which determines excellence;
greater improvement. We have learned techniques
that were new to us and to the horse, with better
results”.
Patricio Digilio: “The fact that those participating
in this clinic are those who actually do the work, i.e.
the tamers, indicates that we are on the right track,
