Break-In Clinic:
“Teaching a Horse to Learn”
PALERMO RURAL EXHIBITION
One of the activities put forward by the AACCP in this
new edition of the Argentine Rural Exhibition was to
make space for a break-in exhibition on the Central
Arena, where Denise Heinlein and Melanie Zubilla-
ga made a demonstration, using the Monty Roberts
method. The public accompanied the performance
from beginning to end.
Melanie Zubillaga said to us: “Interest from so many
people in learning these methods that are efficient,
that give the horse the opportunity to learn, without
hurrying it; forcing it, only by dividing the steps of
learning, was important. We are very happy that the
Breeders Association called us to perform this Clinic
here at the Palermo Rural Exhibition, firstly resulting
from an idea by Miguel Novillo Astrada. We did not
know whether this opportunity would come again, so
Denise and I decided to take it.”
