level of Francisco Dorignac; Gonzalo Tanoira and Benjamín Araya with ponies, and we have always followed the guidelines of Alberto Heguy, whom we admire and respect.”
“ What does the work team of your organization consist of?”“ We have a team of players; grooms; farm hands; technicians and vets that contribute towards its development with the same loyalty, with the aim of producing products that are cared for until they reach the level of competition we aspire to in good health.”
“ And what is your opinion of the evolution of the breed in these last years?”“ What initially was a one-man effort by Ramón, has become a family business in which brothers Gonzalo and Bautista work. We are currently using a cutting edge genetic bank, thus obtaining a herd that is promising as regards stabilization and improvement which will allow us to enlarge the sporting activity satisfactorily and efficiently. To the base we have added other bloodlines from an embryo center sponsored by Ellerstina, located at Paz’ s farm the Aragón in Trancas, Tucumán. When the horses are on the field, it is our official Pilot,
Bautista Paz Posse who tries them out and then assigns the horses to the rest.”
“ What is your opinion of Polo Argentino products today in Tucumán?”“ Progress in latter years is considerable, and that is due to the incorporation of stallions with proven genetics rather than good mares that were selected little by little in the area. Also, some breeders added dams( donors) of great quality. Genetics, plus an adequate training process should provide better results in the future in our region.”
“ And what about the work done by the AACCP to help different regions to grow and organize their bloodstock?”“ The Association is essential in gathering together information and transmitting it to breeders. They have also begun to provide courses and training. All this adds up. We believe that the Exhibition that has been taking place in Tucumán is a great decision, because Buenos Aires is very far away for us to go and present our horses. We wish to highlight the interaction and cooperation among the breeders themselves here in our province.”
