The Ministry Development Team met Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 10:00 at the BBA with 8
members present.
Phil Taylor showed a Lottie Moon video titled “Because Of Who He Is” and pictures of dark
places in Nepal from his trip.
Pastor Gary Moats led in a time of prayer
Phil Taylor reported the Annual Celebration Meeting voted in two churches that were not
Southern Baptist Churches: Iglesia Cristiana de Restauracion and Gamble Road.
The MDT discussed the differences from the ten year profile of the BBA.
Pastor Eric Atkins gave a debriefing presentation on the process to unify the BBA.
Flyers from the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and the Love Your City were given out.
Pastor Matt Ward closed the meeting with prayer.
January 5, 2016
1. The Ministry Development Team met Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:00am at the BBA with 15
members present.
2. Prayer requests were made and Kevin Felton led in prayer.
3. Phil Taylor announced a Pastor’s Luncheon on January 14. This will be a follow-up on the
luncheon held in December to help bring some needed clarity to renaming our BBA.
4. David Peters made a motion to move the Special Called Meeting set for February 4 th to April 7.
Motion was seconded and all signified by saying aye.
5. The MDT continued discussion of the ten year profile from the December meeting.
6. Steven Johnston gave a BCM report. The BCM is having a banner year with 80 students
attending a Monday night Bible study and Jonathan Kyle has helped so much. Jordan Smith,
season nine winner of NBC’s The Voice, was interviewed by Pastor Rick Warren at Saddleback
Church during a Christmas service. Jordan shared about his faith as the foundation of his life.
When his episode aired “Great Is Their Faithfulness” hit the top of the charts.
7. Prayer cards were handed out for Zack Beckel and Zack Randles, our mission partners in
Washington, DC
8. Pastor Jamie Work shared about Youth with a Mission. A powerful group with a unique
production of God’s call to the nation. They will be in Cleveland January 22-28. Call Jackie
Stanley to schedule a performance.
9. Pastor Eric Atkins was recognized for his news article that was published on the Lottie Moon
Christmas Offering. This year New Friendship gave a banner offering of $5,000.
10. First Baptist Georgetown gave $10,000 to the Washington, DC Partnership.
11. Phil Taylor will be preparing for a 10 day trip to Nigeria sponsored by the Billy Graham
Organization.
12. Meeting was adjourned with a closing prayer led by Carlanna Gill .
