STORY CHAPEL COLUMBARIUM PATHWAY AND GARDEN
Mount Auburn completely transformed the area to the southeast of Story Chapel into an accesible pathway with a magnificent feature garden thanks to the generosity of a loyal donor. In addition to the lush all-season plantings, the pathway includes new benches, lighting, and an all allows for full access to the columbarium below Story Chapel which was also outfitted with new furniture.
MOUNT AUBURN STREET PEDESTRIAN ENTRANCES
In May 2024, Mount Auburn opened four new pedestrian entrances along Mount Auburn Street. These four new entrances, advantageously spaced on either side of the current main gate and close to MBTA stops, and a fifth near a vibrant neighborhood provide more open and welcoming walk-in entrances for people visiting from the surrounding communities and provide safer entrances away from the vehicle entrances at our main gates.
Each of the gates along Mount Auburn Street includes a custom leaf shape:
Brattle Street: Ginkgo Aberdeen Avenue: Sugar Maple Belmont Street: American Elm Coolidge Avenue: White Oak
