Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal :
The Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal ( OPSDT ) is an independent tribunal within the College . The full-time Tribunal Chair has responsibility for operations and adjudication . Hearing panels include public and physician members and are chaired by an experienced adjudicator . The OPSDT adjudicates allegations of professional misconduct or incompetence of Ontario physicians referred to it by the CPSO ’ s Inquiries , Complaints and Reports Committee . It also hears reinstatement applications brought by former College registrants .
In 2024 , OPSDT continued its collaboration with several other health colleges . The Health Professions Discipline Tribunals is a partnership between the OPSDT and the Colleges of Audiologists and Speech- Language Pathologists , Massage Therapists , Registered Psychotherapists , and Chiropodists . In adopting the tribunal model and cross appointing its chair and experienced adjudicators , the colleges share resources , align processes , and enhance independence of the discipline function while reducing costs and streamlining operations .
