The Advancement Committee provides support to the Board of Governors in strategic and policy matters related to advancement , including fundraising , donor relations and stewardship , and alumnae relations , helping to ensure they reflect the School ’ s strategic priorities and are conducted with the highest level of integrity , confidentiality , and respect . The Committee works in partnership with the Director of Advancement , Deputy Head and Head of School .
2023 – 2024 Highlights
• This year , a group of School leaders , Board , and Foundation Board members — including members of the Advancement Committee and supported by an external consultant and community feedback — evaluated fundraising priorities , strategies and tactics . A final draft of the Advancement Plan was presented to the Board and approved in the spring .
• This fall , the group also planned for the inaugural meeting of a reconstituted Advancement Committee to take place in fall 2024 , including the identification of a new Committee Chair .
Looking forward , the Advancement Committee will continue to meet regularly starting in fall 2024 . An updated Terms of Reference of the Committee and Year One Action Plan will be developed to ensure alignment with the new Advancement Plan .

The Finance Committee is responsible for ensuring the ongoing financial sustainability of the School . It reports on the School ’ s financial position to the Board and makes recommendations , ensuring that the annual budget review process is undertaken to address both operational and capital needs , and that a sustainable financial plan is in place that supports the School ’ s strategic priorities . The Finance Committee also oversees the annual financial audit and works in partnership with the Director of Finance and Head of School to support CHS financial operations .
2023 – 2024 Highlights
• Continued to monitor School tuition ratification and budgeting processes
• Continued to focus on reducing bank debt , including a bonus principal payment against the Campus Master Plan loan
Looking forward , the Finance Committee will continue to support the evolution of the School ’ s long-term financial projections and advise the Board on the financial implications of strategic and policy matters , ensuring the financial sustainability of any strategic initiatives in the 2025 – 2026 budget . The Committee will continue to monitor bank loan refinancing given the current interest rate environment and continue to provide oversight of the conduct of the School ’ s audit by KPMG .
