Participating in Policy Development
People want and need to participate in the decisions that affect them . We believe that our processes are stronger , and our policies are better when people have a voice in those matters that impact them .
Throughout the year , we engaged more than 1,539 participants and organizations in policy consultations . We also continued to benefit from the wisdom of the Citizen Advisory Group , which helps bring patient voices and perspectives to health care regulation in Ontario . Its members are patients and caregivers who provide essential feedback on topics , such as professional rules , standards of practice , policies , strategic priorities , and communications directed at the public . Their voices help to support health regulators ’ work in protecting the public interest .
