In April , the Chamber of Commerce of Spain and the Secretary of State for Trade signed the agreement to implement the Programme to Support the Competitiveness of Retail Trade , which includes measures to support the competitiveness of retail trade throughout Spain , as part of the general support plans of the Secretary of State for Trade .
In 2021 , this programme facilitated the following :
The adaptation of small enterprises to new commercial formulas and consumer habits .
SME and entrepreneur training in key strategic fields for commerce ( digital marketing , e-commerce , sales techniques , etc .).
All actions were carried out through the network of territorial chambers and in partnership with the most representative associations of interest to the sector or corresponding commercial areas , in collaboration with the autonomous communities .
A call for aid was also made to local councils , and raised 1.6 million euros for the implementation of investment projects to drive the modernisation and sustainability of local commerce .
A total of 26 projects were selected , which generated an induced investment of close to 2.5 million euros , and benefited nearly 4,000 businesses in 9 Autonomous Communities .
Encouraging sales in commercial areas , by implementing innovative campaigns and developing platforms .
