Working with Government Our Submissions
Given the scope and nature of College work
we are regularly called upon by government
decision-makers to inform policy and program
development and potential legislative changes.
We work to contribute to the public discourse
in areas that touch on medical regulation and
matters of patient safety. We also respond to
legislation that has implications for medical
regulation and patient protection, develop
and maintain productive relationships with
government decision-makers and MPPs from
all three parties, and are active participants in
the legislative process. Submission on Bill 160, Strengthening Quality
and Accountability for Patients Act, 2017
In 2017, we saw the passage of three Bills
that were particularly relevant to the College:
Bill 84, Medical Assistance in Dying Statute
Law Amendment Act, 2017; Bill 87, Protecting
Patients Act, 2017; and Bill 160, Strengthening
Quality and Accountability for Patients Act,
2017.
