Reaching Out Writing for Different Audiences
The College’s Outreach Program reaches
out to members and the public on key
College issues, targets specific areas
of the province with organized events
and participates in a variety of medical
student and resident events. The College’s flagship publication is Dialogue,
which has been our main vehicle for
communicating relevant regulatory news to
physicians since 1993. However, we have a
number of publications directed at other
audiences. Patient Compass, for example, is

In 2017, Patient Compass covered a range

Compass included several articles about
In 2017, the Outreach Program
focused on building relationships with
stakeholders, educating physicians and
the public on the role of the College and
encouraging participation in medical
regulation. Continued efforts were made

opioids throughout the year, and a special
issue in October focussed entirely on our
strategy, with particular emphasis on supports

Medical Student Update is produced three times
a year and each issue contains information

audience to allow them to become familiar
with regulation and the role of the College.
In 2017, articles covered a range of topics
including: physician bullying, professional
conduct on social media, and the CPSO
Opioid Strategy. Students are encouraged to
participate in policy consultations in each
issue.
