MEMBERSHIP AND AFFILIATION
In 2012-2013 the basketballscotland membership has increased by 15.9 %. The total number of
members increased from 3367 to 3903.
Interestingly, the improvements in our reporting systems allow us to report our membership based on age group.
U12 membership has proved to be the biggest increase on the season moving from 395 members to 728 members.
This shows that the work implemented in the Scottish community through basketballscotland programmes, such as
Future Clubz, continues having a greater affect on participation levels.
For the first time we are able to locate the number of basketball clubs and basketball players per region. There has
been no decrease in club affiliations this season, with 92 clubs affiliated. However, as the membership numbers suggest, there has been an increase in the capacity within clubs and more clubs with new junior sections.
