Travel The travel pathway in Girl Scouts allows girls to explore new places and cultures, while meeting new people. The friendships forged through travel adventures are lifelong, as are the skills that girls learn along the way. The GSWPA Outing Club takes Girl Scouts to new heights! In late fall 2012, GSWPA launched the Outing Club for Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts. More than 125 girls learned or sharpened their outdoor skills in fire building, campfire cooking, shelter building, orienteering, basic first aid and more. After practicing their skills for months, they were finally ready to embark on their first adventures in July 2013. Outing Club Juniors (grades 4-5) traveled to the Delaware Water Gap on the border of New Jersey and Pennsylvania where the Delaware River cuts through a large ridge of the Appalachian Mountains. Girls used their outdoor skills and hiked, swam and played on the trails throughout the scenic area. Outing Club Cadettes (grades 6-8) traveled far north to the highest mountain in Maine, Mt. Kata
