• Lab management stations were set up in each of the school’s 6 computer labs to enable lab
instructors to monitor student attention, share websites and otherwise increase the ease with which
instruction was provided.
• A mobile, broadband wireless computer lab was configured and setup to provide consistent Internet
access for the Family Literacy Program.
Individual Student and Staff Accomplishments
• A Carlos Rosario student won first prize for an essay that was entered in the 12th Annual District-Wide
Women’s History Month Essay Contest. Two Carlos Rosario students were finalists in the competition.
The contest was sponsored by The Adult Literacy Resource Center and the DC Public Library, with
support from DC LEARNs.
• Two members of the Carlos Rosario team received their master’s degrees.
• Nine college scholarships were awarded to Carlos Rosario graduates.
• Five Carlos Rosario staff members earned US citizenship.
• In spite of family and work responsibilities 20 students earned perfect attendance for the 2007-2008
school year.
