The overall cast of show AoT is immense, and just a mild warning, but the death count this particular series is devastatingly large. Now, getting to the main characters, we will begin with Armin Arlert. He is a frail blonde boy of small stature and an even smaller self-esteem. Armin is somewhat famous for be just about as frail as he looks. However, what he lacks in physical ability, he makes up for in mental and strategic genius. His ability to create strategies will save several of the other main characters’ lives more times than can be counted on both hands. The next characters very much worth mentioning is of course, the all-powerful, Mikasa Ackermann. She is most likely one of the strongest female characters to ever come into existence in anime, in my own opinion. With strong wit and untouchable skill with her 3D Maneuvering Device, Mikasa is almost completely unbeatable; that is until the true main protagonist comes to light. Now introducing, Mikasa ultimate Achilles’ Heel, more commonly called, Eren Jaeger. The young protagonist, with his stubborn personality and undying hatred for the Titans drives him through all the overwhelming amount of trials and tribulations he will come to face as the series progresses. After the death of his mother and disappearance of his father, Eren becomes almost determined to gain independence, and forcefully separating himself from Armin and Mikasa at times. Does this lead to problems in Eren’s future? Well, Considering that just about anyone except Mikasa can die along the course of this show, yes it is most definitely possible.
Next you have the overall animation of the show. There is much so say about this aspect, besides the fact that it was altogether well done. However, one thing worth mentioning about the animation is definitely that of scenes featuring the characters and their 3D Maneuvering Gear. One scene that is a must to see is that where Mikasa, and a highly credited supporting character, Levi Ackermann, fight against a creature referred to as the Female Titan to save Eren. Besides this, there is not much else to say to other than that it was well done, considering that a fairly new studio did the animation. So, thumbs up to the animators.
The soundtrack of the shows, in a word, is brilliant. It has a way of raising your blood pressure to the point that everything hurts in times of despair and thrilling action, than just as quickly giving you hope. However, to put this lightly, it can also crush your hope just as quickly as it came. The theme song, I must mention above all was so well done; from the song, to the animation, to the emotion behind the entire presentation, it was almost too brilliant.
Last, but never least, we have the final verdict. Overall I would highly recommend the show Attack on Titan to just about any new anime fan, since those who have been fans of anime for at least more than a year have witnessed at least a scene or an episode from the show. The plot/story of the show is very well plaid out and executed with just enough suspense to keeps the viewer wanting more at the end of every episode. The characters, in their own right, are very well portrayed, though at times can be somewhat over exaggerated. The animation for the show, particularly pertaining to the scenes featuring the 3D Maneuvering Gear, is very well done and deserves several rewards and praises. The soundtrack for the series is absolutely brilliant and deserves just as much praise as the animation. Any music that has the ability to make your heart race, then give you hope, and just as quickly crush at the justified moments to make it worthy of mention. So, the overall ranking of the show, after taking everything currently mentioned into account would be a 9.5 out of 10.
