However, has he met his match with the live-action adaptation of Attack on Titan, an anime with popularity of monumental proportions?
Attack on Titan is a post-apocalyptic or dystopian anime, somewhat based off the topic of a zombie invasion. However, taking the place of the flesh-eating zombies are the skyscraper-sized humanoids, dubbed by humans as Titans. These human-like creatures constantly crave the flesh of humans, even though they can go without eating anything for months to years on end. The last remaining humans on earth reside behind three incredibly high walls that not even the Titans can scale. However, with a the appearance of the Colossal Titan, the first wall protecting the humans comes crashing down, and with it a killing spree as the Titans outside pour into the area to feed. The main character, Eren Jaeger and his two friends, Mikasa and Armin, all are able to escape behind the second wall physically unharmed. When the three come-of-ages, they all go into training as officers who hunt down and kill the Titans.
