‘Adventures ni Kuya’
FOR
him life is an adventure. Quezon-born Emmanuel
Machler brings fun and work together and lives the allAustralian spirit of exploring the great outdoors – camping,
hiking, bushwalking, surviving in the boondocks.
YES, that includes shunning corporate jobs to
pursue what he loves to do.
“I was working dead end jobs and was never happy with my life. I always dreamed of being an adventurer but never knew how to make it
more than just a past time,” Emmanuel tells AK
in an interview.
“I opened a Facebook page and started sharing knowledge. To my surprise people loved
the idea of a camping group and before long I
was going camping with many different people
from all walks of life and sharing the knowledge
I learnt from DVDs, docos, Youtube, books and
other people like me,” he says.
He knows survival in many different ways
and can live in the most difficult terrain. He
spends just about every weekend in the wilderness ranging from two to three days a week. He
had spent five days and four nights alone in the
wilderness with just basic gear.
“I am self-reliant in the wilderness with
hunting and trapping as part of my skill set.”
Recently, he actually quit his job as a telesalesman to go full-time in ‘Kuya Adventures’,
an outfit he opened in 2009
