HE IS THE CZAR
llNSW-based Czar Amonsot,
28, proved he’s the real lord of the
Pan-Asia Boxng Association light

Ongen Ferdinandus in ten rounds.
It was his first title defense. The
fight was held in Melbourne.
DONAIRE
REMATCH
ll Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’
Donaire heads for a rematch with
Australia’s Vic Darchinyan on November 9 in Texas. Darchinyan lost

in 2007. Like Pacquiao, Donaire
suffered a crucial defeat early this
year. He lost to Guillermo Rigondeaux via a unanimous decision.
The Donaire-Darchinyan blockbuster will be at 126 lbs. Donaire’s
record is currently 31 wins, (2 losses) 20 by knockout. Darchinyan –
the ‘Raging Bull’ – carries a 39win record (5 losses) with 28 wins

PACMAN’S MAKE-OR-BREAK?
‘I CAN STILL FIGHT
IN THE TOP...’
“THIS time my preparation is more serious, more focused.
My mind is like when I was 20 years old.”
AK Sport Update
llNow Pinoys are dying to see
I don’t think
I had a mistake in
that fight. If you look
back... I had 100
percent conditioning,
aggressiveness. That
(defeat) is part of
boxing. I accept 100
percent what happened
in the last fight.

Pacquiao’s comeback in the arena.
Actually, Pacquiao is dying to score
a big win in the ring that made him
a great boxer.
Thirty-four year old Pacquiao
will face 27-year old Brandon
Rios this month (November 23)
in what is expected to be a thriller
of a match in Macau for the WBO
international welterweight title.
Rios is a Mexican fighter who
cannot be underestimated. He’s
a knockout artist with 31 wins (1
loss, 1 draw), 23 of them by knockout. Rios’s 7th round TKO win
over Mike Alvarado in 2012 was
dubbed the Fight of the Year by
Sports Illustrated.
Pacquiao has won 54 of 61
fights, 38 of them by KO.
Reports say that Pacquiao has
been taking his training seriously this time in a quest to reestablish his name as the best poundfor-pound fighter, a tag that he has
been losing over the past year. He
has been less visible over the past
few weeks locked in his training
camp.
“This training camp, I believe,
is one of the longest preparations
