Genuine student visa applicant

tudent visa applicants from the Philippines should note that their applications are assessed
on the strength of their status
as genuine students pursuing
a successful outcome of their
studies in Australia with no intention of using the student visa to continue their stay in the
country.
It is suggested that a prospective applicant shall familiarise with Direction No 53 issued by the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection
which guides the decision maker whether the applicant satisfies the genuine temporary en-
trant criteria. I suggest that the
applicant shall mention in their
application the following:
Applicant’s circumstances in home country - explain
the importance of taking the
course in Australia rather than
the Philippines and show that
the economic circumstances
