THE adoptive parents of an autistic child from Cebu are in a quest to ful?ll their son’s wishes to see his biological parents more than ten years since he was brought to Australia. The Wahroonga couple, Raj and Roslyn Rajasingam, adopted 13-year-old Rafael from the Asilo de la Milagrosa orphanage in Cebu in 2002. Then only two, Rafael was diagnosed with autism and stricken with poor health, had low motor skills, showed little ability to speak and could barely swallow food. “Rafael has gone through years of therapy and rehabilitation and last month he delivered his public speech for the ?rst time at a church gathering. He talked about families and sharing the faith,” said mother Roslyn. “Like him, we always wanted to see how his parents look like, we support his wishes and so we are now seeking for his biological parents,” she said.
