Lions raises $ 45,000 for kids ’ playground
WESTERN Sydney ’ s Blacktown Ponds Lions Club of NSW District 201N5 spearheaded by the president Paul McInnes raised over $ 45,000 on August 26 at Workers Blacktown towards building The Ponds School ’ s disabled children ‘ s playground .
The playground is for children with autism and physical or sensory disabilities .
At the Fundraising Dinner Show and Dance , Lions ’ district governor Ron Gatone confirmed the Australian Lions Foundation ’ s donation of $ 15,000 and the Blacktown Workers Club group donation of $ 10,000 ClubGrant among other donors and winning bidders during the event ’ s stage auction for the construction of the All Abilities Playground
At the event were MP Kevin Connoly , MP Prue Car , Blacktown Mayor Stephen Bali , Councillor Moninder Singh , and Antoine Claasens .
The Club has 35 members and majority are Filipino- Australians . •
