Cheering for Duterte and Bato
The April30forDU30 Group in Sydney
gathered on September 24 at the
Nurrangingy Park to show their support
for Philippine President Duterte and
Police General Bato de la Rosa.
The synchronised event - #924forDU30andBA2 Global
Synchronised Big Day Out for DU30 and BA2 – was held with
the ‘Sama-sama Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago! Nagkakaisang
Pilipino saan man sa mundo!’
Participating groups from Australia included Pinoy
communities from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane,
Wellington and Dubbo. They joined Duterte supporters from
other countries like the United Kingdom, Israel, Canada,
Singapore, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The gathered supporters called on the Philippine Media to
refrain from twisting the words of Duterte, and to report truthfully
and without bias while calling on politicians and international
bodies to keep out of Philippine politics and events.
The Duterte supporters also called on International Media to
report the positive works of the current government in the short
period of time that Duterte had taken office.
In August, supporters of Duterte criticised Channel 9’s show,
60 Minutes which broadcast a report ‘Licensed To Kill’ which
they said was biased and unfair. [Photos: Mitchell Badelles &
