once again visited Cavite City District Jail on October 22, 2018 for the conduct of medical and dental mission. Hundreds of inmates

Dumaguete,
and
Caticlan - were equipped with
night-rating capabilities. And
early this year, the Tuguegarao
airport has also been night-
rated.
Four more airports -
Naga, Dipolog, Cotabato, and
Cauayan - are targeted to be
completed this year.
Construction of new
airports
With a 2.1-kilometer runway to
accommodate heavier aircrafts,
the Lal-lo International Airport
in
Cagayan
commenced
from page 8
operations last March 2018.
With this, the airport is
now capable of catering to
commercial jet aircrafts and
other heavier aircrafts, besides
chartered flights. The Cagayan
Economic Zone Authority
(CEZA) also aims to fast-
track the construction of the
remaining runway facilities for
smoother and safer flights.
Meanwhile, the the Bohol
Panglao International Airport
is scheduled for inauguration
on November 22, 2018.
NAIA Rehabilitation
The Ninoy Aquino
International Airport is also
in line for rehabilitation. The
four-year project involves
improvements and expansion
of terminals, as well as the
construction
of
additional
runways, taxiways, passenger
terminals and other support
infrastructure.
This P101 Billion
upgrade is seen to benefit 65
million passengers per year,
and will be funded through
unsolicited proposal, subject to
Swiss challenge.
Notably, through this
administration’s efforts, NAIA,
the country’s main international
airport, has risen from being
dubbed as one of the world’s
worst airports into the 10th
most-improved airport in the

for their commitment to quality
management.
“I congratulate each of these
organizations for their excellence
in quality management and overall
organizational
performance,”
President Duterte said in his
speech after the recognition rites
held at the Heroes Hall.
The Chief Executive told
the awardees to appreciate the
value of sharing best practices so
that other organizations may learn
and reach their full potentials.

Meanwhile,

the government, President
Duterte
commended

Philippine
Coast
Guard
to organizational efficiency across
various sectors.

efforts to make our country more
globally competitive,” he said.
The PQA is the highest
level of national recognition

The
President
noted that since 2016, the
PASAY CITY -- The Government
Service Insurance System (GSIS)
is offering emergency loan to its
407,604 active members who were
affected by calamities in 7 areas in
Luzon.
The GSIS emergency
loan is being extended to members
in Ilocos (Region I), Cagayan
Valley (Region II), Central Luzon
(Region III), and Cordillera
Administrative Region (CAR) who
were hit by typhoon Ompong, and
those in Tanay, Rodriguez, and San
Mateo in Rizal, who were affected
by tropical depression Karding.
The loan application
deadline for Tanay and the four
regions is November 4, 2018, while
that for Rodriguez and San Mateo
is November 10, 2018.
A total of 259,972 active
members in the calamity areas
who have no existing emergency
loan may apply for a P20,000
loan. A total of 147,632 members
who have not yet fully paid their
emergency loan may apply for an
amount of P40,000, from which
the outstanding balance will be
deducted.
Qualified borrowers are
active members who are working
or residing in the said areas, are
not on leave of absence without
pay, have no arrears in paying
monthly social insurance premium
contributions, and have no unpaid
loans for more than six months.
They should also have a minimum
and loan amortizations have been
deducted.
Active members may
apply through the GSIS Wireless
Automated Processing System
(GWAPS) kiosk located in all
GSIS branch and extension
offices; provincial capitols; city
halls; selected municipal offices;
large government agencies such
as the Department of Education;
Robinsons Malls; and selected SM
City branches in North EDSA,
Manila, Pampanga, Cebu, SM Aura
in Taguig, SM Southmall in Las
Piñas, and Mall of Asia in Pasay
City.
Emergency
loan
is
payable in 36 equal monthly
instalments at the rate of six percent
interest per annum. It is covered by
a loan redemption insurance, which
deems the loan fully paid in case of
the borrower’s demise, provided
that loan repayment is up to date.
Loan proceeds are electronically
credited to the borrower’s GSIS
electronic card (eCard) or unified
multipurpose
identification
(UMID) card.

institution’s law enforcement

on the dedication of PCG

Coast Guard to build on
its accomplishments and
to continue its efforts in

country’s
maritime security,” he noted.
“More than ever, we need
brave men and women like
