eye on the points – that just stuffs with your head,” he explained.
“I just go to race, I don’t need to know if I am up or down. I played
the three race meetings and came out with the best result we
could with Miss Piggie. That old thing just does the best it can with
the rider at the time – there are 112 years between us and we just

“At the end, it was a surprise just to win the final round – not saying
that I could never do it of course,” he laughed.
“To get the big one though – you could have knocked me over with
a feather when they called my name out for that big trophy!
“So I guess the series unfolded perfectly for us in the end – you

While he doesn’t like to go after trophies, Bartley explains there is
something he does like to chase on the track.
“I am not into hunting trophies, my trophies are hitting my personal
best or running a ‘big bike’ off the track – I love knocking a few big
hitters off,” he laughed.
Bartley’s current personal bests are 7.17 seconds on the eighth mile
and a 1.53s 60 foot time, and 11.69 seconds over the quarter-mile
on a 1.60s 60 foot time. His personal best reaction time is 0.003
seconds – set at Benaraby at the final round of the Queensland
Championships.
