O R G The Tao of Photography CONCEPT:  Revitalize your vision while exploring your relationship to subject, camera and self. In this course, we learn to deepen visual awareness while clarifying our approach and making images that are more personal and meaningful. Our photography becomes more powerful by cultivating simplicity and developing the power of intuition. We develop visual strength by getting in touch with our inner selves and using that awareness to deepen the connection with our chosen subject. We also consider lighting, composition and exposure issues with a constant focus on integrating practical advice into personal practice. MEDIA & TECHNIQUES: Inspiration is sparked by a balance of conversation, meditation, sharing photos, reviews of past work, critiques, writing exercises, readings, poetry, photographic exercises and assignments—or by whatever means necessary. ACTIVITIES:  Site-specific photographic exercises and assignments pertinent to internal and external experience and growth. Mornings are spent in class and on photographic exercises; afternoons on field trips with Doug, as well as completing assignments or critiques of work in progress. FACULTY:  With a B.F.A. from the University of Michigan, Doug’s personal vision explores the spiritual aspects of people and place. Exhibited and published internationally, grants and commissions fund much of his personal work. Doug’s extensive teaching experience includes numerous workshops worldwide that emphasize vision over the mechanics of camera use.   www.douglasbeasley.com Tuition: $975 OR Tuition + Studio Support Donation: $1175 Studio Fee: $100  Code: P0410  Enrollment Limit 12
