Over time chicken became ingrained in Chinese culture. And began to be used by everybody from the poorest people who chopped it up it and cooked it over rice to the richest who cooked it whole and served it with vegetables. Originally chicken in China was somewhat different than the chicken everybody else was enjoying around the world. This was due to the fact that many natural barriers separated China and prevented the spread of trade and stopped the mixture of breeds between breeds of chicken. This meant that when China domesticated chicken it had many different advantages and disadvantages. So now you know how some of your favorite chicken recipes came about and what makes them so special!
