Chicken is often used in chinese cuisine. In almost every Chinese restaurant you can almost always find a meal with chicken in it. Even though Chickens has been raised in China since 6,000 B.C they didn’t originate there. In fact the first known domesticated chickens were found in India. These chickens were believed to be breed for cock fights not for food. Over time these chickens reached other places in the world such as Southern China. Although due to the fact China is so isolated from the rest of world it is believed that these chickens did little to nothing to help develop the modern day chicken.
Chickens were often raised by the poor in ancient China. This was because many chickens at the time were able to find their own food. Chicken were smarter 8,000 years ago then the modern day domesticated chickens. Nowadays chickens aren’t as smart as they once were. Over time there bodies evolved because they didn’t need their survival skills to live anymore because they are given food everyday. So thouasands of years ago chickens basically fed themselves and poor people in China were able to raise a lot of them. Even though people living poverty thousands of years ago may have been able to raise many chickens they were unable to keep all of them. This was due to unfair local laws, lords, or that they were simply in debt.
Chicken was revolutionized in China when the modern age brought about trade with the United States of America. This brought new techniques such as the American poultry rearing technique that allowed many more eggs to be produced. Trade from the United States also brought new ideas like the idea of an incubator which allowed more chickens to be raised without the need of a mother hen. These new ideas were further combined into Chinese cuisine to make the best meals possible. What is now considered the Chinese way of making and cooking chicken has made the Chinese cuisine widespread and known throughout the world.
