shrug it off and became very cautious of his surroundings, but still trying to play along with
Mingyu and Jihoon.
They arrived at a room full of sculptures and paintings. The description said that those were
the sculptures of the unknown spirits who didn’t belong to any universe. They lived in the
universe between life and death, and did what God commanded them to do, or to put it simply
(and harshly), they were The God’s Slaves. Wonwoo had read about those spirits, lonely and
lost. He honestly pitied them. . The book he read said that those spirits were souls that passed
away before their time, tragically. Mingyu and Jihoon said they felt strange there and decided
to leave the room first. Wasn’t really paying attention, Wonwoo found himself enjoying the
moment to take a good look at the majestic artworks when suddenly,
“Come with me.”
The words were clear now. He heard what the familiar whisper said. The voice was so soft he
would describe it as delicate and fragile. Wonwoo immediately turned to where it came from.
His eyes landed on the smallest yet the most well-maintained sculpture among others. He took
three steps closer until suddenly someone grabbed his wrist.
“Young Sir, leaveth this lodging, danger is after you.”
Wonwoo didn’t know who she was, but the touch made his hand felt as if it burnt, and her
empty stares pierced through his senses. This woman didn’t sound like the whisper, there was
urgency and determination in her tone, not as delicate as the whisper at all. Without giving
any response, he immediately ran, following his guts and bumped into Mingyu.
He might have heard it wrong, but as he ran through the door, the delicate sound screamed.
“DON’T GO!”
Wonwoo snapped back to his senses when he heard a loud honk. He could only see a blinding
light. It all happened so fast and suddenly, he felt a massive pain piercing his head and every-
thing turned pitch black.

Wonwoo felt pain all over his body even before he fully regained his consciousness. He tried
to open his eyes and move his stiff hands. When his eyes finally caught the lights reflected by
the objects around him, he froze. A small fountain, the paintings, and sculptures he saw not so
long ago were all in his view now.
How did I end up here?
He remembered clearly that they got into a car crash, explaining the honk, the blinding light
