The East London Dance announces
launch of a Dance Enterprise Hub in
April 2015 that will offer a transformative
programme
of
skills
development,
creative incubation for new ideas, startup funding, and mentoring to enable
diverse dance artists and professionals to
establish successful creative businesses
and/or careers, create innovative new
work, and inspire young people about
their futures.
The Dance Enterprise Hub is more like a
dancebank which will capitalize the
growing sharing economy of east London
by
collaboratively
working
with
artistes/organisations, building network
with different venues and resources
whilst establishing a healthy space for
dance and support in growing dancers as
well as spectators.
Moreover, the Hub will be responsible in
promoting artistes and troupes through
provision of required skills, contacts and
resources and with particular support for
socially-engaged dance enterprise in the
fields of health and wellbeing, social
inclusion, education, regeneration, and
science and technology.
Claire Gevaux, Creative Director, The
Legacy List mentioned, “As the charity of
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, we’re
passionate
about
supporting
the
transformation of people’s lives in east
London. Therefore, we are delighted to be
working in partnership with East London
Dance to support and develop creative
talent within east London. We’re looking
forward to seeing how the Dance
Enterprise Hub benefits artists and the
creative community, the potential is
enormous.”
