Standardization, which is one of the main goals of the ACT assessment, is a hypocritical idea in a society that has always prided itself in the special talents and uniqueness of its people. However, this test amounts to nothing more than a way to affirm whether or not students are, in fact, just another approved model. As time moves on, and education continues to improve, schools are growing and becoming of much greater preparation for students. Having academies, and

career pathways are undeniably excellent resources for student who have unique interests and talents. What will all these resources amount to when a student’s future inevitably relies on ONE test? Nothing. In our society, the ACT continues to deter-mine the next step for most American students, which, in most cases, is going to college. Eventually this will be looked at, and hopefully students will be heard. So how fair is this education system?
