Giving all students the same test with the same amount of time is equality. However, judging their overall intelligence solely on a scores of a single test is definitely not equitable. The ACT test is an assessment used to determine a student's readiness for college. This assessment determines how much money students will receive for scholarships and whether or not they are worthy to attend certain schools. This begs the question, does anyone realize
how absurd this system is? All the test booklets note that the ACT is constantly updated to ensure that the test content is related to what is being taught in classrooms. The real issue lies in the lack of diversity in content. Where are the questions over photog-raphy, mechanics, health, art, music, medicine, etc.? Why are students being ranked and categorized on how well they test in five contents that may be irrelevant to what they will pursue in the future?
