DAY 1 Fly Los Angeles
On arrival, make your own way to your hotel where you will meet your tour director.
DAY 2 Los Angeles / Phoenix / Scottsdale
The journey gets underway as you travel through Palm Springs, the winter playground for Hollywood royalty, with its lively downtown and immaculate golf courses all at the base of the rugged San Jacinto Mountains. Continue through Indio in the Coachella Valley and onwards to Phoenix / Scottsdale in Arizona.
DAY 3 Phoenix / Scottsdale / Grand Canyon
Travel through the Sonoran Desert, the richest and most biologically diverse desert ecosystem in the Americas. Continue to Sedona, a city situated in a unique geological area and encircled by distinctive red rock monoliths with names such as Cathedral and Coffee Pot. Drive onwards through the breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon before you reach Grand Canyon National Park, one of the seven great natural wonders of the world. Stop at the rim to fully experience this mile-deep canyon’ s plunging gorges and rising spires formed by the mighty Colorado River.
DAY 4 Grand Canyon / Page / Lake Powell
Enter the Navajo Indian Reservation passing the trading post of Cameron. Continue through the Painted Desert and the region of Monument Valley, an area that perhaps embodies the most iconic images of the American West. In the late afternoon, enter the town of Page, situated on a mesa above the Colorado River.
DAY 5 Page / Lake Powell / Bryce Canyon
Visit the mighty Glen Canyon Dam, the second highest concrete-arch dam in America. From here soak up views of stunning Lake Powell where crystal blue water laps against towering red-rock canyon walls. Travel on through Kanab in Utah before visiting spectacular Bryce Canyon. This evening, weather permitting, gaze up at the night sky as it fills with sparkling stars and brilliant constellations.
DAY 6 Bryce Canyon / Las Vegas
Travel to Zion National Park to see the massive rock formations carved by wind, time and the Virgin River. This afternoon, experience the contrast of Las Vegas, the dazzling‘ entertainment capital of the world’, where round-the-clock shopping, extraordinary shows and, of course, gambling are all on tap.
DAY 7 Las Vegas
At leisure. Be sure to stroll along The Strip marvelling at the mega resorts, take a ride on the High Roller or explore downtown Las Vegas. If time allows take in a show, browse the shops and try your luck at the casinos.
DAY 8 Las Vegas / Mammoth Lakes *
Stop at the iconic Las Vegas sign for the chance to capture a photographic memory of Sin City. Your journey continues to the quiet and extreme environment of Death Valley, where you’ ll stop at Zabriskie Point and Furnace Creek Ranch / Visitors Centre. Drive onwards across the valley and ascend the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the alpine resort town of Mammoth Lakes. The area gained prominence as a gold mining town in the 19th century while today, it is renowned for its superior skiing terrain and staggeringly beautiful mountain vistas.
DAY 9 Mammoth Lakes / Modesto
Today’ s journey brings you to the Tioga Pass and into the scenic wonderland of Yosemite National Park. Here, you will experience the valley floor and its splendours including the glacial-shaped granite formations of El Capitan, Half Dome, the magnificent Bridal Falls and Yosemite Falls. Continue on to nearby Modesto.
DAY 10 Modesto / San Francisco
Depart early this morning for San Francisco, one of the most beloved cities in America. You’ ll then embark on a comprehensive sightseeing tour showing you all the major landmarks, before arriving at your hotel.
DAY 11 San Francisco
Your tour concludes as you make your way to the airport for your onward journey.
