Las Vegas & The West- Yellowstone & The Rockies

Yellowstone & The Rockies

Some of Mother Nature’ s finest creations
Words can hardly do justice to Yellowstone National Park, whose dynamic geothermal forces, lurking just below the surface, gave rise to its dramatic collection of mountains, rivers, canyons, springs and the world’ s largest concentration of geysers and thermal features. One of its star attractions is the Old Faithful Geyser, which erupts around 20 times a day with water soaring up to 180 feet. To see Old Faithful, along with many other geysers, follow the boardwalk trail within the Upper Geyser Basin. Midway Geyser Basin boasts the mighty crater of the Excelsior Geyser and the impressive Grand Prismatic Spring. See also Mammoth Hot Springs on the east flank of Terrace Mountain; Mount Washburn; the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, which resembles Arizona’ s Grand Canyon; the striking mud pots of Mud Volcano; and the largest highaltitude lake on the continent, Yellowstone Lake. In Yellowstone’ s Lamar Valley watch the freely roaming wildlife, including whole herds of bison. The USA’ s most iconic mountains sprawl across Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. It’ s very much a destination for outdoor adventures, such as hiking, skiing and snowboarding, not to mention spectacular landscapes that will very definitely take your breath away. Primary gateway to the Rockies is Denver, famously known as the Mile High City. It’ s an outdoorsy city with an easygoing vibe, brimming with craft breweries, chef-owned restaurants, shops, sports and art. Check out Colorado Springs for stunning red rock formations, mountain trails, local art, dining and culture, or Grand Junction whose year-round temperate climate provides the perfect setting for endless outdoor recreation. In Wyoming, vibrant Jackson is an ideal base for Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park; Cody, which was founded by the legendary“ Buffalo Bill”, is a great place to experience the Wild West; Sheridan is known for its historic downtown along with dramatic vistas of the Bighorn Mountains; and Cheyenne is home to the world’ s largest outdoor rodeo.
